About me
Kara Elizabeth teaches at Highline College and South Seattle College in the Seattle, Washington area. Her calling to teach started as a form of activism to support immigrants with varying statuses. She received her bachelor’s degree in English in her home state, Oklahoma and her master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in Oregon. Her previous research and topics of interest include identity in connection to name changing, pronunciation tactics, teaching gender neutrality in a non-ethnocentric lens, and the presence of shame in classrooms. When she isn’t teaching or writing, she is in the mountains.
